Super Berries Recipes

Perfect smoothies, on your cereal, in your hot porridge or straight from the pack: our newest blend features the Kings of the Super Food scene – Blueberries and New Zealand’s own wonder fruit, Blackcurrants. Not just any Blackcurrants mind you but we only use the “Ben” varieties that have the highest levels of Antioxidants of just about any food in the world.
 
We have balanced the whole mix with Red Raspberries (also rich in Antioxidants) so that not only do Super Berries deliver a wallop of free radical busting antioxidants but they also tastes fantastic. No point in trying to eat healthy food if it doesn’t taste great as well.

PORRIDGE BERRIES
Simply stir some Orchard Gold Super Berries through your porridge after it has been cooked – the heat from the porridge will thaw the berries and they’ll be ready to eat by the time you’ve added anything else.

SMOOTHIE BERRIES
Place 1 cup of Orchard Gold Super Berries in a blender, with 1 cup of apple juice or milk or soy milk, and half a banana.  Process until smooth. Sweeten with a little honey if required, and sieve if you prefer to drink without the seeds. Pour into a long glass and enjoy.

YOGHURT BERRIES
Stir a few Orchard Gold Super Berries through a pottle of unsweetened yoghurt.  Add honey or sweeter to taste if desired. You could thaw the berries in the microwave for a few seconds before adding to the yoghurt. (If you're only putting in a few berries make sure you place a glass of water on the microwave plate to prevent arcing). They won't take long to thaw and make a quick and delicious treat. .

INSTANT BERRY DESSERT
Place 1 cup of Orchard Gold Super Berries, 2 tablespoons of milk or cream and 1 tablespoon of berryfruit jam in a blender, and blend until smooth.  Spoon into glasses or bowls and serve immediately.
